HELP & ADVICE
Below are a few things explained, and advice given to help you when choosing your marquee and accessories as well as a few hints and tips to make your event a success.

TYPES OF FLOORING.
The type of flooring you have in your marquee is a very important decision as deciding on the wrong type of floor could spoil an event. The type of floor you choose depends on several factors, the weather, the type of ground its going on, How even the ground is,what you are using the marquee for, and the look you are after.
Here at Ultimate Marquees we offer 3 types of flooring,
Matting, Plastic interlocking floor, And wooden floor.

1. MATTING
We use Dandy Dura woven matting which is a modern replacement for the original coconut of coir matting.
The main advantages over coir matting are:

It is made of a plastic so washes well and always looks clean,
Does not smell,
It is more tightly woven so ladies heals won't go through it.

Matting is suitable mainly during the summer months when the ground is hard and is a good basic floor providing your ground is fairly even and looks better if you cut your grass before we install it.
Matting is not suitable if your ground is uneven, has ruts in the grass or holes in the lawn as they can cause a trip hazard or a twisted ankle.
Matting is not suitable if the ground is wet or boggy in places especially if there has been a lot of rain before the marquee is installed as mud can work its way through the matting.
Matting may not be suitable on hard floor such as decking or a concrete patio if rain is expected during your event because the rain may come into the marquee as there will be no natural drainage unlike on grass.

2. PLASTIC INTERLOCKING FLOOR
This flooring is laid in a marquee and a coloured carpet of your choice fitted on top.
If your ground has imperfection's eg: ruts or small holes in it, it will cover over these making your ground safer to walk on.
If you have a marquee on decking or a patio and it rains, it wont allow water to enter the marquee from underneath like matting would.
If your grass is wet or boggy it will stop mud coming through underneath into the marquee.
This middle priced floor is a great alternative to wooden flooring but will follow the contour of your ground and although it will cover imperfection's it will not level an uneven ground.

3. WOODEN FLOORING
This is 18mm interlocking plywood sheet flooring which is very strong and a coloured carpet of your choice is fitted on top.
This flooring is best suited for boggy or uneven ground.
This flooring is great for weddings or functions where people will be having a sit down meal when tables need to be level.
By having this floor built we can even out the most difficult grounds and will ensure your marquee is safe dry and level.

4. HEATING.
Heating for your event is possibly the most important thing to get right when hiring a marquee.you can spend hundreds or even thousands of pounds on your event but if you get the heating wrong and your guests are cold it can be a disaster.
Heating is not just for the winter months it may be advisable to have something on standby if it gets chilly in the evenings during the rest of the year.
We offer 4 types of heating Electric blowers, Cabinet heaters, Halogen heaters and indirect diesel heaters.

A. ELECTRIC BLOW HEATERS.
These heaters are great for our pop up marquees or our small oriental marquees. They are positioned inside our marquees, are thermostatically controlled and blow out hot air.
Because they are between 2-3kw electric only a couple can be used in your marquee due to electrical safety this is the reason they are best suited to smaller marquees.

B.CABINET HEATERS.
These heaters are positioned inside the marquee and run on butane gas.The heat is fully controllable and they all have built in carbon monoxide detectors for your safety and piece of mind which will shut the heater down if detected.
they can heat quite a substantial sized marquee in numbers giving you full heat control.

C.HALOGEN HEATERS.
These heaters heat objects (people) not air, so are best suited to events where no sides are required on the marquee, or an open fronted marquee, usually an events stall, smoking shelter etc.
we use these alot over the Christmas period for stalls choirs, bands usually outside shopping centers.

D.INDIRECT HEATERS.
These heaters are positioned outside the marquees and warm clean air is ducted into the marquee,
They are the only way to safely heat a large marquee, They are thermostatically controlled and can heat the largest of marquees in seconds.
These are great for our larger marquees or when the temperature is extremely cold.
